The Key to Doing Business with Women

The Key To Doing Business With Women

blog, Business

Are you ready to grow your business through collaborations and partnerships? I don’t know about you, but I’ve heard more times than I can count that women can’t do business together. But you know what? I beg to differ, and here’s why:

I believe most women are born with a desire to serve, help and protect others. We are lovers and nurturers…naturally. As with any group of people, there are some bad apples in the bunch. You know – the ones   who can’t be satisfied, are always making sure they get the biggest part of the straw, or who want you to do all or most of the work while they sit back and reap the benefits. I get it. But we’re not all like that.

Some collaborations and partnerships come together without you having ever met in person. A few months ago I was looking for a marketing/branding expert to join me on tour and I was referred to Lynan. From that first time we spoke on the phone, I knew Lynan was going to be a fabulous woman with whom I could collaborate, grow my business and have fun working with.

I’ve discovered that doing business with women is not any more different or difficult than doing business with men.

For a successful collaboration, pay attention to and use these 3 golden rules:

Doing Business with Women Golden Rule Number 1: Set your expectations.

Is this going to be a one time deal or an on-going collaboration? How is this relationship going to improve both of your businesses? What will be the roles each of you will play?

Doing Business with Women Golden Rule Number 2: Create a Win-Win relationship.

Make sure both of you benefit equally from your partnership/collaboration and that you are clear on who’s responsible for what.

Doing Business with Women Golden Rule Number 3: Communicate!

This is perhaps the most important key to doing business with women. One thing we like to be is “In the Know”. With open lines of communication, you are able to play off each other’s strengths AND weaknesses, work through any issues that may arise and improve the success of achieving the goals you set.
