As Seasons Change, So Does Your Business

blog, Posts by Lynan

The seasonal shifts of the planet are a suggestion for the pace of business. Take note.

As summer slips away in the northern hemisphere and Fall and Winter approach, the weather change can be shocking to the system.

No more sunshine, beaches, swimming and picnics. It is time for cozy sweaters, time with loved ones and the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. I always say that the seasons change to remind us of how to be. Summer is an outgoing, adventurous season. We built summer vacation from school and in New York City, we take Fridays off and head to the nearest ocean for beach time.

Fall is about CHANGE. As the leaves fall from the tree, to prepare for a cold winter, let’s takes some cues from this weather change:

  1. During these colder months, we crave warmth. Make a list of 5 things you do in your business that WARMS your heart. One thing that especially warms my heart is TESTIMONIALS. Fall is a great time to reach out to past and present customers/clients. Ask them:
      • Why did you choose to work with me?
      • What are the specific results you received?
      • How has your life changed since we have worked together?
      • What would you say to someone considering working with me?
  2. Fall means SOUP time to me. My grandmother used to concoct the most amazing creations. A meal that simmers for hours, sometimes days, to create layers and depths of hearty flavor. Your business can take cues this beloved warm liquid. Fall is a time for adding in all of the ingredients from the whole entire year and letting them percolate. Every time you combine these various pieces, you will turn out a NEW DELICIOUS creation. Spend some time writing down accomplishments from the past few months. Then begin to look at them from different angles and ask how can you combine or expand them to grow your business.
  3. I love to JOURNAL as the weather changes, mostly because I prefer to be on the couch under a blanket or curled up under my covers a lot of the time. This is a time for REFLECTION and RECOUNTING what has happened all year long. This is a time to PLOT what you will be creating and launching NEXT! Stir up your emotions, experiences and express them in writing. Get comfy and cozy, create a sacred space to dream your BIG future.
  4. Fall is about GROUNDING. Getting rooted in ourselves. Knowing ourselves, our intentions, our promise, It is a season for root vegetables, like sweet potatoes, and carrots. Eating these foods can help you connect back with your true self.

Welcome a new season, new possibilities and a new evolution of your business. Wrap yourself in CHANGE. Embrace what’s next.

Please share in the comments below, what Fall inspires in you?

ooooh such a fun pose of the month! Betts right, tight shoulders can be such a *fun* chagnelle! It helps me to soften the base of my heart, melting it towards the mat, WHILE keeping strong arms, forarms & fingerpads rooted. The shoulders staying strong but heart soft allows for a deep upperbackbend then reaching l-o-n-g from the heart through the tailbone is electrifying I often face a wall and press the tops of my feet into the wall to help melt the heart and extend through the legs at the same time . just waiting for my toes to grow towards my head now thanks yall.namaste

  3. reminds me in the tale concerning the scorpion plus the frog. The scorpion question the frog if he would get him across the pond. The frog explained, you might be a scorpion, you’ll sting me. The scorp promised he wouldn’t. So the frog claims ok as well as scorp hops on. 50 percent way across the pond, the scorp stings him. The frog check with why did you sting me, now we’re both gonna die. The scorpion claimed, i am a scorpion.
